I am pleased to report that the doctors say they will be able to put Charlie under anesthesia with a mask prior to poking an IV in his hand, which will make it lots easier for us. Charlie chose root beer for the scent of his knockout gas. Surgery is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. and may take up to seven hours!!! The surgeons will be sitting down and looking through microscopes and will just have to go really, really, really... REALLY... slow.

We will be thinking of you, Jeff and your brave boy tomorrow. How wonderful for him that his body is ready for this surgery...this next step in helping him be his healthiest self. Remember to take care of yourself (snacks, drinks etc. for you) during those 7 hours, too.
