Feels like long time no post.
Oscar now eats Cheerios. Cute. Moist Cheerios all over the highchair and floor... less cute.
The camera store guy says it's the lens, which is easy enough to replace. Could be worse.
What is the story with this preposterously expensive teething toy that apparently all the in babies are slobbering over? Sure, sure, it's French. But is it that much better than, say, the Little People giraffe? Or, say, the latest AAA Horizons newsletter? Or the frosty outside of my mint julep?
My mother has been in Scandinavia for way too long.
We have failed to join the summer reading program at the library.
There's this web site called Steep and Cheap. It sells high-end outdoor stuff, one item at a time, at discounted prices. The other day they were selling some men's trousers called the Overhang Pant. Who hired the marketing genius that named that garment?
Oh no! I almost forgot. We lost a chicken. One of the Jersey Giants, so either Jim Burt or L.T. Just woke up dead a couple of days ago. Sad! She was purty. When she was a chick, she got slashed by our next-door neighbor's cat, Catchina, and survived. Unless that was the other Jersey Giant. No way of knowing.
And, here's the really shocking news: the peacock at Jim and Mary's was hit by a car and killed. I KNOW! I KNOW! Hit and run! SO bad. We will fondly remember his pretty pretty feathers and the way he used to admire himself in glass doors and chrome bumpers. Less fondly, the giant piles of peacock crap and the 5:00 a.m. wake-up calls (honk, aa-AAAH!). Charlie's first word was peacock! Only it came out "t'-CAH." Rest in peace, Romeo. Alissa's wedding was your last hurrah. We will miss you.

1) I have a steep and cheap problem.
2) I can't believe Romeo is dead!!!! I have such mixed feelings about this.

I too love Steep and Cheap. That and woot, woot cracks me up.
I also miss Romeo - that was a tough one to swallow. Maybe Romeo and the Jersey Giant are playing together in the big fields in the sky... or wherever they head off to when they die.

Romeo gone? I am sorry...
And I had never heard of Steep and Cheap until you mentioned it, and as I look at their website, I see RETAIL STORE... Oh yeah, guess where THAT is? SLC....

One of the baby's at the momma/baby yoga class following my class this morning had one of those giraffes. The mom it's made of natural rubber and food-grade paint . . . so no toxic plastics or worries about lead. Which is all well and good, but I was wondering - does the kid only get one toy to play with, because I'm sure he puts other things in his mouth besides the giraffe?
