Charlie's preschool classroom got a sound field system today. The teachers wear a microphone that's a wand on a necklace. Their voices are amplified ever so slightly through a speaker, so they rise above the four-year-old fray. It sounds fantastic--not at all overbearing. Thank you, town!
Tomorrow we depart for Washington, D.C., where Charlie is looking forward to seeing 'Arack Obama. Little does he know the most exciting person we will see is my summer camp friend Missy, who is getting married.
This is unlike my house where the most powerful man in the world is routinely referred to as Barak O'Poopypants.

Nice. As opposed to George O'War Criminal? Let's not go there, my friend.
