Speech note: Charlie has learned to say an initial h. He's now marking his inital f's with the h sound. So he eats with a "hork" and builds a pillow "hort." The cuteness, it is painful.
Big girl note: Summer has picked up the following useful bit of information from the school bus: If your head gets chopped off, your eyes keep on blinking for several seconds until your brain dies.
Note of inevitability: When kindergarten was new and the weather balmy, I sat on my stoop for 20 minutes or so waiting for the school bus at the end of the day. I now hide in my house until Linda the bus driver actually has to honk for me.
This weekend we went to visit the Garden State fam. My mom said, "I hope something happens so you can write about it on your blog!" In fact, nothing happened. Often there's a reason I go there--someone's in town from far away, or it's a holiday. This time we just hung out. Very relaxing. Uncle Joey took the kids to two different playgrounds. (There's no snow there right now.) My mom and I took the kids to the Morris Museum and enjoyed dinosaurs, minerals, stuffed birds of prey and a grizzly bear, and a free production of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown." Then we got 10% off at Friendly's with our museum ticket stubs.
Hey....don't I even get a "mention"??
