Last year Jeff took Summer to Fenway with some tickets from a vendor. Sunday River was doing a free lift ticket promotion. They gave Jeff a free lift ticket. "Why don't you go get your ticket, Summer," Jeff said. The people apparently thought Summer was so cute, they gave her five free lift tickets. We used some of them this weekend.
We left Charlie with his auntie and uncle and cousins (including his partner in crime, Nosara). We missed him but we realized that it would have been impossible to haul all of our skis/snowboard/helmets/boots/poles (which Summer calls "pikes") and also haul Charlie.
Summer had a lesson and they tied the front of her skis with an "edgie wedgie," which she hated. Also, even though she has her own new girly skis, they made her wear Sponge Bob ones because they were shorter. But the staff was very nice, and Summer got to ride in a wagon pulled by a snowmobile.
Jeff and I skiied/boarded together in the morning; it was warm, the snow was perfect, but my legs felt old and weak. I realized I have not skiied in four years (and this is where I was). So I'm old, weak, AND out of practice!
After lunch the three of us stayed on the bunny slope together. We rode the new magic carpet up and skiied down a zillion times. By 2:00 Summer was executing a flawless french fry/pizza technique on her longer, flowery skis; she asked Jeff to take her to Nashoba Valley tomorrow night and he said yes.
When we picked up Charlie, Greg and Maya informed us that he did not ask about us a single time. In fact, he did not want to leave their house. So we left him there.
No, not really. But now we know who's babysitting for all the skiing we're going to be doing this winter.
That's great! And now I think that you and Summer and Charlie should come to Utah with Jeff, but stay with me. I'll babysit Charlie while you take Summer skiing at Brighton.....
